Naked in a nude space without possible horizons. Forced in a corner by an unequal struggle against the nothing approval. The individual without external references or foreign superstructures no longer makes any sense. It goes back to the state of embryo, immature to life. Escaping is impossible, light reveals strong bars and solid old walls. If a sun ray unravels the fragile human condition, in juxtaposition the veil still covers its identity, isolating it, making it impossile for the viewer to determine whether there is pain on his face, angst or resigned abbandonment. We are unable to see beyond the social grounds, because incapable of expressing and decoding the pure language of our emotional essence. The lack of communication, the approval, in the most current and harmful of aspects, are recurring themes in the photographs of Donadio, that do not renounce to conceptualism of his artistic choice, not even in the reportages. Corpi come sculture, immobili, avvolti o ingabbiati in incarti di cellophane e materiali poveri. Nudi in uno spazio nudo senza orizzonti possibili. Costretti all’angolo da una lotta impari contro il niente dell’omologazione. L’individuo senza riferimenti esterni o sovrastrutture estranee non ha più senso. Torna allo stato di embrione, di feto immaturo alla vita. Impossibile la fuga, la luce rivela forti sbarre e muri solidi e vecchi. Se un raggio di sole arriva a svelare la fragile condizione dell’uomo, l’involucro vela comunque l’identità, isola, lega, rende impossibile all’osservatore capire se sul volto ci sia dolore, angoscia o rassegnato abbandono. Siamo incapaci di vedere oltre gli stampi sociali, perché incapaci di esprimere e decodificare i linguaggi puri della nostra essenza emotiva. L’incomunicabilità, l’omologazione, negli aspetti più attuali e nocivi, sono temi ricorrenti nelle fotografie di Donadio, che non rinuncia al concettualismo della sua scelta artistica neanche nei reportage.
